Aujourd’hui nous commençons notre journée dans l’école à 08h30.
Today, we are starting our day in the school at 8:30AM.

Après, nous allons à Bernachon, une chocolaterie.
After, we are going to the Bernachon chocolate factory.

Dans la boutique de Bernachon, nous sommes entrés dans les salles où ils fabriquent les chocolats.
In Bernachon's store, we entered into the rooms where they make and prepare the chocolates.

Nous devons porter des blouses en plastiques et des surchausures pour bloquer nos vêtements.
We have to wear plastic coverings and shoe covers to cover and protect and block our clothes.


Le guide nous a expliqué la fonctionnalité de la chocolaterie et tout ce qui concerne la fabrication.
The guide explained the functionality of the chocolate factory and everything that concerns the production.


Après, nous recevons quelque chose à manger. Nous recevons beaucoup d'exemples des truffes vendus dans la boutique et du chocolat chaud. C’est très bon.
After, we receive something to eat. We recieve many examples of the chocolate truffles sold in the factory's store and hot chocolate. It is very good.


Après avoir mangé, nous restons dans le restaurant pour un bon moment et ensuite nous allons à la boutique de Bernachon pour acheter les produits que nous désirons. J’achète deux chocolats pour mon amie.
After having eaten, we stay in the restaurant for a good while before going to Bernachon's boutique to purchase the products we would like to buy. I buy two chocolates for my friend.


Après, nous retournons à l’école pour la fin de la journée. Ensuite, je retrouve mon correspondant et nous allons au centre commercial pour déjeuner et jouer de jeux d’arcade avec d'autres étudiants américains. Nous avons passé un bon moment.
After, we return to the school for the end of the day. Next, I meet back up with my host student, and we go to the mall to get lunch and to play arcade games with other American students. We had a great time there.


Après, je rentre chez mon correspondant et je me repose pour un bon moment. Je dorme un peu. Après, mon ami arrive pour jouer aux jeux vidéo et pour jouer au basket avec mon correspondant. Nous jouons 3v3 avec des gens que nous ne connaissons pas.
After, I go back to my correspondant's house and I relax for a good while. I sleep a bit. After, my friend comes over to play video games and basketball with my host student. We play three-on-three with some guys we don't know.


Après, je retourne chez mon correspondant et je mange de dîner et prends une douche. Finalement je me couche pour le prochain jour.
After, I return to my correspondant's house and I eat dinner and take a shower. Finally, I go to bed for the following day.

With my alarm ringing in my ears and the sunshine already beating down on my face, I woke up and got out of bed at 6:00 in the morning despite my reluctance to do so. Afterwards, I prepared for a long and tiring day. Even though May 22nd was our last day of school at BCHigh, today, May 26th, 2026, marked our first day of “school” at Lycée Saint-Marc. So, after having fixed my backpack, my host student and I headed out the door and started walking to the métro station. Thankfully, it hadn’t become too hot yet, so the walk was not as horrible, yet it still took some time until we eventually arrived at the Sans Souci subway station. After having stood in the métro for a while, we eventually arrived at Bellecour station, the closest one to the Lycée. My host student and I ran into another pair of exchange students, so the four of us walked to school together. T oday was the long awaited day where we finally traveled to Lyon. I know we have all been waiting for this day, both parents and students, and I know we students have been working extra hard to finish all of our work. Today the work came to a close and the travel began.  We all followed Monsieur Salamone and Madame McGrath through TSA which went smoothly. We then all took a group photo. After TSA we made our way to our gate and dropped all of our backpacks off. We then went with our travel buddies to get food from the food court or sit down at a restaurant. After/during dinner, we played card games to pass the time. Eventually it was time to board, and off we went. The plane ride was roughly five and a half hours and it was relatively smooth. When we landed it was Saturday!

Today was our first full day in Lyon. I woke up at 8:30 am and ate breakfast with my host family shortly afterward. In the morning, my host family took me to Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon) — the oldest part of Lyon. There are many shops for food and shopping there, sitting right next to the Saône River. Eventually, we made our way to Hôtel de Ville de Lyon — Lyon’s city hall. The building is just to the North-East of Vieux Lyon. Then, we crossed the Saône River to find a place to eat. We found a restaurant that serves traditional French food. I tried some Gratin de Ravioles and escargots (snails). Snails are considered to be a traditional French dish. After lunch, we went back home and relaxed in the pool. A few other classmates and their exchange students joined us. A few hours later, we had dinner, which consisted of pasta bolognese along with some cheese. After dinner, I became tired, marking the end of the first full day in Lyon.
